Folkfaces is a New York state based roots music quartet. Folkfaces play a mix of original and traditional music. The group takes its influence from weird old american music. The music is driven by songwriter and frontman, Tyler Westcott (Vocals, Guitar, Banjo, Harmonica, Kazoo) who founded the band in 2011. The rest of the band has taken many forms over the years, but the current lineup includes multi-instrumentalist and fiddler Brendan Gosson, upright bass player, Patrick Jackson, and percussionist Dan Schwach on drumkit and washboard. Location: Tupper Lake Sunset Stage, Flanders Park, Tupper Lake

Fronted by the charismatic Jamaican-born singer and songwriter Nee Nee Rushie, the seven-piece New York band The Big Takeover plays original music that is rooted in and reverent toward the genres and rhythms of Jamaican pop: reggae, rocksteady, ska. They are devotees of Desmond Dekker and the way the old school did it. At the same time, The Big Takeover crosses lines and blends traditions like global pop fusionists. Their deceptively complex arrangements and big hooks connect with the spirit of Motown and the uptown sophistication of the 21st century retro soul and R&B revival scene.

An Evening with The Silks
Date: August 14, 2023
Time: 7:00 p.m. - 8:45 p.m.
Location: Tupper Lake Sunset Stage, Flanders Park, Tupper Lake

The Silks are a true grit rock and roll band out of Providence, Rhode Island. You could say The Silks are the rock and roll band from Providence. With two consecutive Boston Music Awards for “Blues Artist of the Year” 2016 and 2017 The Silks are well on their way to achieving a rightful place in rock n roll history, or at least folklore. Wait ’til you read the book, you can’t make this sh*t up!
The Silks deliver honest sounds of the blues-based rock n roll variety. You’ve got guitar pyrotechnics galore from frontman Tyler-James Kelly. Chicken-pickin’ or taking a soaring lead break, it’s quickly apparent Kelly is on a whole’nother level. It makes you wonder just when did he get his first real six-string? Then there’s the voice. Bluesy, however you want to describe it, it just sounds like ripping a telephone book in half and feels like scratching a really good itch.
The Silks nail down the groove with its rhythm section of Uncle Sam Jodrey on drums, Jonas Parmelee on bass and Johnny Trama on rhythm and lead guitar. Fast songs, slow songs, it doesn’t matter. For this humble group of seasoned players, it’s all about the dance floor, and with the right chemistry, the dance floor reciprocates.

FREE and open to the public.
The Bob Stump Band

This ensemble of virtuoso musicians has played countless shows and is always unpredictable and exciting. Although the members of this band play with other groups, when they get together to perform they call it “The Golden Band.”
